Welcome to this short introduction to the Engineering course. This will help to prepare you for when you start your course with us at Gower College Swansea and give you an opportunity to brush up on some of your skills!
Engineering touches on all areas of our lives, and is central to the development of our infrastructure, transport, technologies, food, health, and energy to name just a few areas. By creating, designing and innovating, engineers help to shape the world we live in.
Engineers are in high demand in every country around the world. Basically this means you have an excellent chance of getting a job in engineering straight out of college or university. In fact, engineering enjoys one of the lowest unemployment rates of any profession. -

Enriching our understanding and value of engineers will benefit society and make the UK a leading nation for engineering, technology, and innovation. But what needs to happen to ensure the next generation are developing the right digital and technical skills?

At Gower College Swansea, our engineering technology courses will allow you to explore the various technical subjects including; Mathematics, Physics as well as Design and Technology. You will also be able to develop skills that are transferable to most industries such as; problem solving, decision making, innovation, project management, team working and communication.
