When you have designed your triangle you can decorate it. This will need to show your feelings or thoughts about ‘lockdown’. Perhaps you feel sad because you can’t see your friends, or maybe you are happy to be spending more time at home. You can decorate your triangle with a drawing, painting, collage, poem or any other artistic expression. Please make sure to take a photo of your finished piece and write your name and date on the back. Look at the image below to see what blank bunting looks like. Ours will be much more exciting though, because every student will have designed their own artwork to go inside each triangle!
Activity #1: Arts and Crafts
Students in our department are being asked to help design a ‘Lockdown Bunting’. This will be displayed at Gower College Swansea when we can safely return to campus. To help make the bunting you will need to make a triangle where each side measures 20cm. This is called an equilateral triangle. For this you will need a piece of white paper, a ruler and a pencil. Have a look at the YouTube video to see how it is done...
Here’s a quick summary of the things covered:
- You measured a triangle where every side is 20cm.
- You designed your own piece of art to go inside the triangle.
- You wrote your name and the date on the back of your triangle.
- You took a photo of your finished piece.

Activity #2: Cookery
Follow the link below to some recipes for Cakes in a Mug. You could try making these at home with your families and others that you live with. Try experimenting with different flavours. Have a look at the You Tube video opposite to see how it is done...
This activity is just for fun! We hope you enjoy it. If you like, you can take a photograph of your finished cake and send it to us at the college. Remember, your cake will be very hot when it comes out of the microwave, leave it to cool for a few minutes before you tuck in!
