Welcome to this short introductory course on Community Inclusion. This course is for those students that can see themselves participating in the travel training programme within ILS. It will help to prepare you for when you start your learning with Gower College Swansea!

Video #1: How to catch a Bus - Here’s a quick summary of the things covered in the film:
- Planning ahead
- Waiting at the bus stop
- Boarding the bus
- Riding the bus
- Leaving the bus
After you have finished watching the video, think about the following questions:
- Why is it important to plan your journey?
- What should you do whilst waiting for your bus?
- What should you always remember to take with you?
- How should you behave when you are on the bus?
- What should you do before you leave the bus?

Use Google Maps to plan your route from your house to Gower College Swansea, Tycoch, SA2 9EB.
Once you have entered your address at the top right, this will show you a route you could take if you were travelling by bus from the Liberty Stadium to Gower College Swansea. The map shows the streets you pass (in blue) on the left hand side it shows how long the journey would take.
Can you answer the questions below:
- How will you get to college? By bus, car, walking or cycling?
- How long will it take you?
- What number bus will you need to catch? Will you have to change buses?
- Do you already have a bus pass?
- If you don’t have a bus pass, do you know where or how to get one?

The App is a very useful tool for planning journeys and having your travel plan available on your phone instantly. Just find your area, find your bus and the route and times as well as other journey info is all there on your screen.
